5 Benefits of Fresh Produce Delivery for Meal Planning

Do you need fresh produce for meal planning? The average food spend among Australians is about AUD190 per week, according to the Australian Sydney Herald. Besides going to your local supermarket, you can also choose fresh produce delivery. It’s well-known that eggs, grains, fruits, and vegetables are healthy.  But it might be surprising how many benefits you can get from produce delivery, such as the following:

Nutritional Value

Studies show that 80% of Aussies aren’t consuming enough fruits and vegetables, according to CSIRO. A good guideline to follow is to consume at least five servings of vegetables and two servings of fruits.

Such food groups, along with eggs, dairy, and grains, are high in various nutrients, including:

  • Protein
  • Vitamins
  • Minerals
  • Enzymes
  • Antioxidants

It’s also important to consume a wide range of grains, fruits, and vegetables. That’s because they have different amounts of vitamins, for example. Mangoes and papayas are high in Vitamin A, bananas and avocados are full of Vitamin Bs, and apples and oranges have lots of Vitamin C. Eating different grains, veggies, and fruits every day can help you achieve daily recommended intakes (RDIs).

Fibre is another nutrient that’s found in many fruit and vegetable skins. While the body doesn’t digest all fibre, it can provide health benefits like better digestion and weight loss. According to the Heart Foundation, the average Australian should be consuming 5g to 10g more fibre daily.

Meal Planning

Meal planning takes some time. However, in the long term, you’ll be spending less time looking inside pantry cupboards or kitchen fridges to figure out what to make for your next meal.

The average meal-planning for a week will take an average of 30 to 60 minutes. It’s definitely worth spending some time and effort on the weekend, for example.

Another way you can make meal planning easier is through produce delivery. This can provide you with everything you need for daily meals and snack time.

Hi, I'm Mathilde Lacombe — a lifestyle and beauty blogger based in New York City. I have been writing about beauty, skincare, fashion, health, and women's everyday life for nearly eight years. I hold a Master's degree in Arts & Humanities from Pace University, New York, which shaped the way I research, analyse, and write about every topic I cover here. I started this blog because I wanted a space for honest, well-researched content, not recycled advice or paid promotions dressed up as genuine recommendations. Everything I publish starts with research and ends with a real opinion. When I am not writing, you will find me exploring New York City, obsessing over skincare ingredients, or spending time with my pets. This blog is my creative home and I am glad you found it.
