Inspirational Quotes About Life to Get You Past Your Low Self-esteem

Bruce Lee famously said, “Always be yourself and have faith in yourself. Do not go out and look for a successful personality and try to duplicate it.”

Self-Improvement blogs are a dime a dozen in today’s time. Everyone is somehow a self-help guru. Not to take away from the great ones, but sometimes you might not need a guru. Maybe all you need to live this moment with joy is a bit of self confidence, a dash of presence, and a whole lot of self-acceptance.

What does a confident soul look like?

  • They’re willing to take risks
  • They aren’t focused on people-pleasing
  • They value themselves for who they are, flaws and all
  • They treat others with love, just as they treat themselves

How can you become more confident?

“The way to develop self-confidence is to do the thing you fear and get a record of successful experiences behind you.” William Jennings Bryan.

Enter into a quiet space, become mindful, grab a pen and paper and follow the five steps listed below. As you write, you will gain more clarity. You will also have a written document to refer to when you feel low.

1. Write down a list of your acheivements

“One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.” – Arthur Ashe. The first step to getting to know yourself better is to start jotting down everything you have achieved in your past.

It’s so easy to forget all the milestones you’ve achieved along the years you’ve lived. That is why this is a starting step for beginning your journey to self-confidence.

2. Now build your list of talents

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” Ralph Waldo Emerson.

From the above list, you will begin noticing patterns. You would be surprised how something you thought was trivial equipped you with important life skills.

3. Have a list of things you’d like to improve upon

“It is confidence in our bodies, minds, and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures.” Oprah Winfrey

A confident person worth his salt knows there are things in him that hold him back. He knows there will always be things to work upon. But he accepts his flaws and owns them. Better than anyone, he knows himself.

As you build your list of things you’d like to work upon, you will find new goals and targets to achieve in life, which brings us to our next step.

4. Set goals and become your coach

“Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” E.E. Cummings.

What is life without goals? Set tiny goals that move you forward in life. Begin by working silently on your flaws list. Add value to your life.

5. Fill your life with value

“To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.” Oscar Wilde

As you coach yourself through life, fill it with meaningful habits that help you grow. Add hobbies, meditate, work out, socialize, own your truth, read some self-improvement blogs, and become the best version of yourself.
